Jacqueline Fernandez grew up in Bahrain, Manama. She is Sri Lankan and comes from an ethnically diverse background. Her parents are Malaysian and from Sri Lanka. The father of Jacqueline is Elroy Fernandez hails from Sri Lanka. There are two brothers younger than her and a older sister. She was born and raised in Bahrain. Her parents had relocated to Bahrain in the 80s due to the civil war within Sri Lanka. She was given a scholarship to study at in the University of Sydney in Sydney Australia after she had completed her studies in Bahrain. Her passion for different cultures and languages led her to join the Berlitz language school where she improved on French as well as Arabic in addition to learning Spanish. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 competed for Miss Universe 2006 as well as Miss Universe 2006 when she was awarded the title in 2006. After winning Miss Sri Lanka in 2006 Padukone was able to begin her work on television. She hosted the television show Lanka Business Report which focused on the business of Sri Lanka. Padukone (the daughter of badminton player Prakash Padukone) was born and grew up in Bangalore. As a teenager she competed in badminton at the national championships, but she ended her profession in sports to become a fashion model. Padukone is of Mangalorean background Her mother language is Konkani. Padukone is a village located within the Kundapura Taluk of Karnataka's Udupi District. Prakash Padukone is her father and was a badminton player who has international acclaim. Her mother is an agent of travel.
